Why Us
Only a dilated eye exam allows us to determine how advanced a cataract is and if it needs to be surgically removed. We have developed close relationships with surgeons nearby that we co-manage surgery with. Schedule an appointment today to see if you have developed any cataracts that would benefit from surgical removal! No need to be concerned with surgery, it is one of the most commonly performed surgeries, and does not carry a lot of risks. It is a simple way to drastically improve vision and often eliminates the need for glasses to see distance clearly! Typically you still need help with reading/up-close vision, but they have developed some bifocal lenses as an optional upgrade as well!
Overview
Cataracts are a fact of life! They will happen to all of us eventually. Cataracts are changes that occur over time to the lenses inside of our eyes. You can think of them as tinting or frosting of the lens from sunlight/UV exposure over time, but even if you never see the sun aging will catch up eventually. There are certain things that can cause cataracts to happen earlier in life such as smoking, eye/head trauma, diabetes, or a side effect of certain medications. Cataract surgery is the main treatment once vision begins to be reduced significantly. Symptoms include reduced vision, foggy/hazy vision, reduced colors vision, or problems with glare, especially at night.
